Department of Biochemistry Golf Day

August 25, 2009

Dentonia Golf Course, Toronto

A perfect sunny day greeted golfers as they arrived at Dentonia. Here Lori Rutkevich polishes her putting skills before tee time.

Sian Patterson smiles after nailing her putt.

An unusual par 3 course, Dentonia offers many surprising bowls, hills, and water hazards to challenge intrepid Biochemists.

Fiona Cunningham tees off on a 135-yard hole with a ball-eating stream passing through it.

Vince Nadeau shows great form at the first tee.

David Tulumello tracks his shot on the first hole.

Allen Volchuk lines up this 30-footer and amazingly sinks it for a birdie for team RAD.

Lori Rutkevich hit the flag with this shot
narrowly missing a hole-in-one!

Team Deber started flagging down the beer cart on the third hole - maybe not winning strategy but perfect for a hot day!

Sian Patterson, Jason Dumelie and Lori Rutkevich, take a break between holes.

Great stop-action as Brad Poulsen nails yet
another perfect shot off the tee

Dave Tulumello ponders a tough putt (or perhaps
is supporting himself after the third beer)

Patrick Walsh, Jennifer Webb, and Patrick Kim Chiaw, relax after a wonderful 18-hole afternoon.

Mod Rujiviphat , Antoinette Bugyei-Twum and Jay Yang
pose for their team photo at the end of the day

Players peruse the merchandise awaiting them at the prize table (compliments of our ever-thoughtful Chair!)

The winners, Team RAD (David Williams, Allen Volchuk and Reinhart Reithmeier), came in at 4 under par with an impressive 6 birdies

A happy group of golfers celebrate the end of yet another terrific Biochemistry Golf Day.
