Fantastic cakes greeted Carol and guests. The one on the left was decorated
with scenes selected from Carol's
long history with the Department and was expertly crafted by Carol's
daughter Gina
Chair Reinhart Reithmeier described Carol's association with the Department
from her arrival in 1968 and praised her many contributions over the
years.
Dean Cathy Whiteside gave a heartwarming testimonial to Carol's accomplishments
and characterized her as a matriarch in the Department and in the Faculty
of Medicine
Joined by her family, Carol enjoys additional warm testimonials from
Peter Lewis, Pat Staton and Marian Packham
Carol enjoys reminiscing with Pat Staton who was Departmental business
officer in 1968. Pat described how she hired Carol on the spot when she
learned of Carol's 100+ wpm error-free typing!
Carol responds to the testimonials and gives a touching retrospective
of her 4+ decades with the Department
Carol reacts to the news that, as a retirement gift, her family and
Departmental friends are sending her on a cruise to Mexico. Now that's
a send-off!
