Postdoctoral Position - Antimicrobial resistance genomics

Location University of Toronto
Position Description

Our research group is interesting in understanding how microbes evolve in response to antibiotics and vaccines. We are applying next generation sequencing technologies to infectious diseases. The candidate should have experience with molecular, cellular, and systems biological approaches in the laboratory. A background in genomics and basic bioinformatics will be very useful. The project will use clinical isolates of both bacteria and parasites for in vitro susceptibility testing. Isolates will also be assessed using sequenced-based typing and whole genome sequencing. Analytical skills will be required to identify new candidate drug resistance markers and virulence factors.
